Franchise Update May 8, 2026

My Place Hotels and The Rivett Organization name Brian Quinn CDO

The Rivett Organization has appointed Brian Quinn as chief development officer, a newly created leadership role responsible for advancing a unified growth strategy across its vertically integrated ecosystem of affiliated companies, led by its flagship brand, My Place Hotels of America.

“Our foundational growth has been structured and disciplined, building substantial relationships and partnerships throughout the organization’s vertical approach,” Ryan Rivett, founder/president/CEO, The Rivett Organization and My Place Hotels. “As we look forward to the next phase of accelerated growth, it just made sense to align with a growth leader who has a proven track record of doing the same. Beyond his experience, Brian’s a great guy who hit it off with our team right away—and cultural cohesion is a prerequisite for us. We’re confident that Brian will be successful in maintaining our foundational integrity while scaling intelligently to build a pipeline that’s both durable and aligned with our brand and ownership standards.”

As CDO, Quinn will advance strategic growth initiatives across The Rivett Organization’s affiliated companies, spanning development, construction and management, while overseeing franchise expansion and development for My Place Hotels. This role brings these efforts under unified leadership, ensuring a disciplined approach to scaling the Rivett platform while preserving the guest experience and franchisee value that have defined the My Place brand since 2014.

“This is an opportunity anchored by a legacy that has already proven it can shape the industry,” Quinn said. “I’ve long respected what the Rivett family has built. Ryan and his grandfather, Ron, didn’t just create brands—they created platforms that align the three constituencies that matter most in hospitality: guests, employees and owners. That alignment is incredibly difficult to achieve and even harder to sustain.”

He continued, “What makes this moment unique is the convergence of that legacy with a very clear runway for growth. My Place Hotels of America is operating in a segment that is structurally advantaged, where demand is durable, margins are strong and the value proposition is clear. At the same time, The Rivett Organization has built a fully integrated development ecosystem that allows us to think differently about how we scale more intentionally, more efficiently, and with greater control over outcomes.”

With more than 25 years of experience, Quinn has held senior leadership roles at IHG, Hilton, Choice Hotels and Sonesta International Hotels Corporation, where he was chief development officer. He has served as secretary/treasurer of the American Hotel & Lodging Association Foundation, currently advises Penn State’s School of Hospitality Management and is a frequent speaker and panelist at major industry events.

“I’ve been fortunate to spend my career building, repositioning and scaling brands,” Quinn stated. “That experience has taught me that growth, on its own, is not the objective; repeatable, high-quality growth is. And that only happens when you have a clear playbook, aligned partners and a culture that prioritizes long-term value over short-term wins.”

He continued, “What excites me here is that the fundamentals are already in place: a strong brand position, a high-performing economic model and meaningful whitespace in the market. The opportunity now is to take those elements and build a system that can grow with precision—where every deal, every partner and every project reinforces the strength of the platform. If we do that well, the outcome isn’t just growth; it’s building something that owners choose, teams believe in and guests return to.”

For My Place Hotels in particular, Quinn’s arrival comes at a pivotal moment. With more than 125 hotels in the pipeline and a foothold in 32 states, the brand is positioned to build on its momentum in an increasingly competitive extended-stay market—and Quinn’s leadership will help shape that next phase of growth.

“For me, this isn’t just about growing a brand,” Quinn concluded. “It’s about helping build a modern hospitality platform—one that is disciplined in execution, differentiated in the market and enduring in the value it creates.”
